Get to know your Embroidery Machine LS2* 10.9

Getting to know your...EMBROIDERY MACHINE with Laura Savill. Monday 10th September. PLEASE USE BOOKING LINK.
Have you got yourself a fantastic Embroidery Machine? Or do you you have a Machine but you just don't know how to get the best from it? Of course you could read the manual... but some of us just don't learn that way. So, with this in mind we have put together a full day's workshop covering all aspects of getting the most out of your machine.
We'll be starting right at the beginning, like all good adventures and working through step by step. We'll cover threads and threading, needles, bobbins and winding, cleaning and maintaining and helpful hints as to why things go wrong... We also explore the stitches on your machine and other functions, even though they may not be used on the embroidery part of the machine. All of this will be explained and practiced as we go, with notes to take home.
Then it's time to get started on the embroidery side of things. We'll start with hooping, stabilisers, fabrics and more. then we'll get started on using some of the techniques we've learnt and use our machines to add lettering, move the design and of course, stitch it out. Before you leave you'll know how to use a design from the internet, how to stitch out an appliqué design and an 'In the Hoop' (ITH) design. We'll see how Free Standing Lace (FSL) is formed and how we can adapt designs for our machines.
All through the day, we'll be giving you hints, tips and shortcuts. We'll be providing you with all the fabric, stabiliser and threads you'll need to stitch out your projects and you'll get notes to take home.
At the end of the workshop you will be going home with two stitched out projects and notes. You will have made new friends, been well fed with lunch and refreshments provided and will be going away with lots of confidence to produce what you want from your machine.
